Prince George to Fort St. John BC

Today was a really great day. We woke up early and made our selves a nice little breakfast(Oatmeal made with hot water from the coffee maker and eaten from the ice bucket...). Once again we went to sleep with clear skies and woke up to snow. It was light and dry and just kinda blowing around. The roads and skies cleared up pretty much as we pulled out of town and was that way for a little while. Until we approached the Canadian Rockies. From there on out it was snowing and snow on the road most of the way. The plows do a good job of keeping the roads pretty clear and driveable. There is a lot of sand and dirt on the road and with the snow it did a pretty wicked number on Falcor, but its nothing he cant handle and it actually looked pretty cool.

We made our lunch stop in the "Chainsaw Carving Capitol of the World" Chetwynd, BC. This meant that it had a bunch of chainsaw carving lining the highway. It was a lot colder here than it has been previously so our little tour of town was just a quick little walk to check out some of the carvings.
The rest of the drive up to Fort St John was on snow covered roads, but at the time we left Chetwynd we had made up our mind that we were staying in FSJ. Being that it was still early and not too far away we took our time and it was a really nice drive. We were once again on the look out for moose as there was ample signage warning us of their possible presence. We were mostly disappointed.. all we saw was a couple of deer, as well as some crows and bald eagles eating some road kill...that was kinda weird.(side note: the crows we have been seeing are huge, literally almost as big as the eagles.)

Tonight we decided, after a couple of sub par over priced meals, to make our own dinner. Being that we forgot to pack it until the very end, the rice cooker ended up pretty much right in front and very accessible. We went to the store and got some veggies to steam, and already has some Spanish rice, so we put it to use. It was by far the best meal we have had so far, and since we saved so much money on making dinner tonight we decided to go to the cinema and see Rango. It was a really good movie and great way to end a long but good day. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as fun!
